Gasoline and Treason
Today the prices at the pump seem to be in at around 3.30ish per gallon. Pretty expensive sure, but not quite as bad as the rest of the nation. There are some stations in these environs that are bumping 4.00 bucks but they are quite a bit over the norm here. Now with that being said, it will be small wonder if we are all not paying over 4.00 across the nation soon. It is apparent that when prices are sustained at that level for any length of time the economy begins to crumble. Our "nascent" recover is in jeopardy. Of course I jest. There really has been no real recovery to speak of. Perhaps some spot recovery here and there at best. I read and hear "economists" bleat about the fuel prices and of course there is wide spread differences of opinion. Some say the cost of fuel (along with everything else) will soon skyrocket while others say that prices will soon pull back. An economist practices "witch science" anyway and nothing any of them say can ever ever be taken seriously. Over educated dunces many of them. At any rate if high fuel and inflation are the coming norm then those who are energy obstructionists are solely to blame. They do not practice mere politics or have honest disagreements. They commit treason. It is high time that any who stand in the way of complete energy iindependence (this means exploration and drilling, the horror) be voted out of office at first opportunity. They are opium eaters, Utopians and, in fact, traitors. They have damaged this nation's national security.

Absolutely agree!! International corporations, oil cartels/monopolies, and increasing international demand with decreasing supply of limited resource have
absolutely no part of the greed, graft, and grief within the Republicant Party.
Is it safe to assume you are a product of the publik edumacation system in Amerika?

There you go again bleating about oil cartels/monopolies, etc. Of course oil co. are a pack of thieves. Grow up and get over it. I would love to take your comments seriously but just can't. You tend to come across as if you reside on fantasy island. You are always welcome to comment though. Also I don't think there are limited resources. We can supply our own needs until at least the time that an alternative fuel source is brought to market. Anyone standing in the way is obstructionist.
I wish I could find the article now, but it was to the effect that economists are propounding theories that they have never and cannot ever prove, because they can never run them against a "control," that is against against a parallel economy subject to all of the same factors but to which the theory is not being applied.
I keep harking back to Paul Krugman who claims that his Keynesian theory is proven by the "New Deal spending" of the thirties which led to the economic boom of the 50's and 60's. The fact that a recession which occurred in the late 30's when the New Deal spending was stopped, and a World War which raged in much of the forties came between those two periods does not deter him from claiming that the first caused the second.
I parked my car in my driveway during a snowstorm, the snowplow cleared the roads, I took it out and drove it after the snow melted, so when I had a wreck obviously the snowstorm caused the wreck.
Jayhawk I enjoy your analogy in the last paragraph. I don't pretend to understand economics in the "educated" sense but I do know when one is talking crap. That is what economists generally do. I never believe a word any of them say.
