Gas Prices Again

Have you noticed that the price at the pump has risen a bit in the past few days? There is speculation (of course) that the Iranian naval exercises and bellicose rhetoric have been contributing factors. It is always something it seems. Prices rise anytime there is some unrest near any oil exporting region. Sometimes it is just an excuse to wring wring more buck per barrel out of the world consumer. Or so I would guess.

The Persians would probably do well to keep their "navy" in port and their air on the ground. Nothing good (for them) can come out of their military equipment in such close proximity to those of the West.

This is Amusing

bAREeYEDsUN: (Not) A Message From Verizon or Verizon Wireless - YouTube

This is pretty funny.

Christmas Shoppers Float New Red Chinese Aircraft Carrier

Well the XMAS buying season has come and gone, although there are a lot of "good" deals out there now that the big rush is over. Go on down to your local evil empire and check it out if you don't believe me. It is sad that a goodly portion of the deals that can be had are produced in the PRC. It is not like most are made in China by Chinese companies mind you. Nope, most is made by American firms who chose to take advantage of slave labor at the expense of the American worker. I would wager that a good portion of the "proceeds" from the sale of their junk goes to fuel the progression of the Chinese military. Could be wrong. But I'm not.

So go ahead and riot over your Air Jordan shoes or whatever new electronic gadget is in vogue. Buy that crap and you are funding the rise of a nation that certainly does not have our best interests at heart. In fact they are likely hell bent on our demise.

This is what your hard earned dollars are paying for. It is not United States' (or even that of our allies) military equipment.

2011 Dickweed Awards Hosted By BC with Special Musical Guests Bozo Porno Circus

It is that time of the year. Time again to take a look at some of the folk that truly deserve to be awarded a Dickweed. It is quite an honor really. From the world of sports, entertainment and politics....They are all here. Let's take a look at the recipient's.

Dick Durbin: Dick (where's your turban?) Durbin seems to be a bit of a controlling type. 'Pears that he has his hand in just about everything. Just this year alone he, along with a few other near Marxists in the Senate, pressured the Orange Bowl folk to end their relationship with a cigar company. Is this any business of those at the federal level? They sure seem to think so.
Dick also seems to have a problem with the so called "voter ID" movement that is sweeping the nation. He knows good and well that a whole lot of his "friends" in congress would not be elected if it weren't for illegal aliens, retards, and the criminal underclass. Apparently it is a problem that any one wishing to vote have some sort of state issued identification on their person.

The Orange Bowl Committee (or whatever it is called): A group can be included in the competition and these Orange Bowl folks are late inductees simply for not telling Durbin and Co. to bugger off. These folks are not only dickweeds but are pussy to boot.

Chuck Schumer: This Schumer is a problem. Most Texans and Southerners can't stand the sight of him. His lobbying to have a space shuttle on display in NYC instead of Houston is criminal. It would have been interesting had the Texas State Guard just snatched the thing and brought it home where it belongs. What fun it would have been to see this POS stamp his little feet over that one. Schumer deserves a Dickweed and no mistake.

Craig James: This "sports and broadcast legend" (in his own mind) will be running for the U.S. Senate. His past underhanded antics and meddling with the Texas Tech football program cost a good coach and decent person his job. His past activities while a player at SMU need to be investigated. Something just not right about this James.

Todd Graham: Oh yes, the well traveled football coach qualifies for a Dickweed. He is not only a dickweed but a coward to boot. He has left three programs in the last few years high and dry. The last time he did not even have the cajones to tell his players at the University of Pittsburgh that he was again moving on. In person anyway. He did it by text message. Probably afraid of an ass whoopin. That would be my guess.

The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms: Another group inducted? Yes. Why not? It seems that again this "police" agency has been implicated in some pretty incompetent (and horrible) deeds. The "fast and furious" episode is only the latest. Remember the foul up a few years back near Waco, TX? That was another ATF disaster. This agency seems pretty good at infiltrating inbred biker gangs but that is about it. It should be disbanded, the "agents" dismissed from service, and any duties that are legitimate shifted to other agencies.

Eric Holder: He just needs to go.

Dumbass Sheila Jackson Lee: This woman is always near the top of the list when any discussion of fools commences. She may be pretty harmless (other than actually having a vote in the House) and it is often great comedy to listen to her bray about this and that, but she certainly qualifies for a Dickweed. She is, by all accounts, an insufferable person to be around and hell to work with. I have listened to her "talk" a time or two and believe her not only to be a dickweed but a "professional" racist to boot.

John McCain: While we honor his military service it is certainly to difficult to honor the remainder of his public career. He is in the same mold as the aforementioned Dick (where's your turban?) Durbin. A busybody who is part of the problem.

Ted Kennedy: What's that you say? He is no longer with us? You mean to tell me that the drunken "liberal lion," manslaughterer, and all around buffoon has gone to his reward? Well I guess it is not kosher to talk bad of the departed. So I won't. Accepting the Dickweed for the family will be the Gentleman from Massachusetts; The Honorable Barney Frank.

Keith Olbermann: Keith's platform has shrunk a bit after he lost his gig at MSNBC. He still qualifies for a Dickweed none the less. At least he does not "work" football anymore. He was more irritating to listen to than the aforementioned Craig James. If that is indeed even possible.

Bono: I suppose that BoneOn does some good charitable work. He is still a dickweed and will be so honored. His holier than thou act just tends to grate on folks nerves.

Sean Penn: Like BoneOn, Penn does some good charitable work. His need to cozy up to some unsavory folk is certainly hard to understand though. For this he will be honored with a coveted Dickweed.

Mrs. Palin: Is she going to jump in the Republican race this late in the game? She seems to have left the door open. It sure seems that the GOP is trying to give the presidency back to a very beatable Obama. With the pack of fruitloops, losers and lukewarm types they have for us to chose from, it certainly seems so. That being said it just makes sense to make room for one more nutball on the big stage. Mrs. Palin? Give it a rest will ya.  Palin certainly qualifies for a Dickweed. Very well qualified indeed.

A lot of folk fell just short this year and there are certainly those who are deserving who have been left off (mainly because I tire of this nonsense). Keep up the good work though. I award Dickweeds throughout the year. As a fact of business, I award them on a quite regular basis.

Now enjoy our rather disturbing musical guests Bozo Porno Circus. Or not.

The Only Thing Good About The NBA

There is not much good about anything NBA. Unwatchable most of it. Does anyone really care that they have finally started to play basketball again? Assuming  what is played on the NBA court is really basketball at all. About the only thing good about the National Basketball Association is......well you can figure it out.

I believe in polite company they are known as "titty dancers."

A Christmas Gift For You. The Leningrad Cowboys

This is becoming a tradition it seems. 2nd year in a row that I will present some "XMAS" music for your viewing/listening pleasure. Enjoy the Leningrad Cowboys of Finland with their rendition of Whiskey in the Jar. This particular tune was made famous by the influential band Thin Lizzy and has been covered by numerous artists including Metallica. It is interesting that the authorship of the tune has never been established and it is perhaps quite old. I was thinking about putting up some old Bozo Porno Circus (now that was a band) but thought that might be taking things a bit far on a Christmas morn.

It is tradition in Western society to wish all a Merry XMAS and I do so now.

Dick Durbin Strikes Again

"Senator" Dick (where's your turban) Durbin is again throwing his weight around where it is not wanted or needed. Son of a bitch! Oh wait; in the spirit of Christmas, goodwill toward men and all that, I suspend the name calling. Anyway that Durbin, along with two other forgettable "me too" Democrats, have pressured those at the Orange Bowl to cancel their advertising deal with a cigar company. Of course those Orange Bowl execs (or whatever they are called) caved in.

This Durbin is a problem. Who does he think he is? Konstantin Chernenko? He wishes.......

Hair an "Independent" Now

Well it is all over the news. Hair has become an independent and ditched the Republican Party. Good for him I suppose. He is a buffoon sure but is probably the smartest and most qualified of those that are running or, as in his case, has flirted with the candidacy.

I find it humorous that most the the Republican candidates don't want Hair to moderate a debate. He is smarter than them, tougher than them, and they don't want any one who is capable of really making  those folk look foolish in a position to easily do so. We ain't talking about Palin here. We are talking about a bonafide tough guy who is no quitter and no one's fool.

It matters little that he tends to be a bit comical. If he were president this country would be taken seriously by all those who may be not be so friendly.

They would fear him and that would be good.

A Public Service At XMAS

I have been drinking a good bit of late. Something I really never do. White Russians go down pretty good anytime and I must say I prefer one of the off brand coffee liqueurs to the standard. If you want something different though, a bit of Irish Cream is something one can just drink with coffee all day long. I enjoy the commercial Irish Cream but have been thinking a bit of making my own. Using the power of the Internet I have found numerous recipes and I think this one looks good to me. As soon as I drain my bottle of the commercial stuff I believe I will whip this up. H/T to yumsugar.com.

Well here you go......

1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 pint whipping cream
3 eggs
3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1/2 teaspoon coconut extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
10 oz. Irish whiskey (my favorite is Jameson)
Directions
  1. Mix all of the ingredients in blender and refrigerate.
  2. Shake before using
  3. Enjoy chilled over ice.
Serves 6-8.

Have fun. Drink responsibly and all that.

Yep There Is An Islamic Convention In Houston. Wish I was Still in the Taxi Business

OK the Muslims are coming to Houston. They are here in fact as their convention kicks off today at the Hilton. I have not done a whole lot of research on the matter but have noticed that the usual suspects are fearful of this event and the Muslims themselves, along with their apologists, are playing victim. I don't think it is a big deal frankly. Yes apparently there are some closet America hating type speakers on tap but I don't think that the Taliban has a booth at the event. Probably a lot a hype about nothing. Or not.

What I do know however is that this would be a money making opportunity for a cab driver of the non Muslim variety.

You see, after a hard day of kneeling on carpets and whatnot, some of these out of town sports will find themselves in "need" of some stress relief. Muslim or no. Think not? Don't delude yourself. A cabbie knows a lot more about human nature than some who call themselves "Doctors" of Psychology. There are a plethora of out of the way spots in Houston where a sporting man can go to relieve a bit of stress as it were.  It is the job of the cabbie to be of assistance. To make recommendations if required. Here and there as it might be.  All in the name of customer service.

Yes this would be one of those times that I find myself missing the taxi business. As a "retired" cabbie and semi retired bartender (still available for weddings and lawyer funerals) I can spot a money making opportunity from a mile off.

This gathering of Mohammedans would be one of them.

I Don't Always Drink Beer but when I Do....It Won't Be Mexican

Lately I have been violating my self imposed boycott of Mexican products. I will continue to drink Mexican Coke and I will, at times, partake in some coffee liqueur imported from said country. I do also like some Mexican beer and also some fruit flavored soft drinks from the land just south but I avoid them. The reasons for the preferring the Mexican variety of Coke over the American variety is pretty obvious. Anyone can tell a difference right off the bat. High fructose corn syrup (or whatever) is not the same thing as real sugar. Don't these pimps who manufacture the stuff  here get that? Guess not. Coffee liqueur, for me, is a seasonal thing only.

Now I do like some of the beer of Mexico. Besides, the "most interesting man in the world" drinks some pretty good stuff and, additionally, he is always surrounded by good looking cougars. Still I will refrain.

Indianapolis on a roll. Beats Two Texas Teams In A Row

Last night the Colts edged the Texans just a few days after their victory over the Oilers. Congrats to them I suppose. It does not seem they like Texas very much. I was much more interested in watching Boise State play nice with ASU but I was informed we would be going to eat burgers and such at a pretty decent little sports bar. Of course all televisions sets were tuned to the NFL game. Like I could give a Ramadan about either the Colts or Texans.

Who Dat? Go Saints. Other than that......just not interested.

Trying to Get The Hang of This Rule Five Thing

Is this any better? Still trying to get the hang of this whole Rule 5 deal. Like everything else in life it just is not as simple as it seems.

I'll Try My Hand At Rule Five

I have not done any rule five "work" before. Is this the way it is done? I don't know why multiple images occurred. Good for you I suppose. More to admire.

More On This Craig James

OK. Those who don't follow college football probably have no idea who this Craig James fellow is. He is/was an announcer on ESPN until, apparently, he resigned to pursue a run for U.S. Senate. Fine and good. What you may not know however is that he has some definite attributes that uniquely qualify him for a seat in the esteemed body.

In his college days Craig James played for Southern Methodist. Yep he was there during the "death penalty" days. He denies involvement in wrong doing (of course), but with so much money being thrown around........ C'mon Craig. Did you or did you not make a few bucks?

Recently he was instrumental in getting Mike Leach fired from his position as HC at Texas Tech University. His son was not getting the playing time that Craig thought was warranted I'm sure. Of course there were some allegations of wrongdoing on the part of Coach Leach, but those appear to be groundless. James did not get what he wanted (playing time for his pussy son Adam) and decided to target the coach. (This is speculation of course but I would not say it is "wild speculation.") One can't help but wonder what kind of pressure was put on the administration at Texas Tech to can a darn good coach. Perhaps James has pictures of someone with a goat?

This James has been in the vicinity of  extreme corruption at SMU during his college days. Whether he was really an innocent bystander is certainly something that should be questioned and investigated. Vigorously! He may not be corrupt but he certainly must have been very aware of what was going on around him. He is not that stupid. Is he?

James sure seems to have used his "power" in a very underhanded manner to get what he wanted (son's playing time) and was a party to  the "lynching" of Coach Leach. It is doubtful that the alleged "abuse" by Leach even occurred. Again this is all just speculation by a large number of those who follow college football...but when there is smoke there is very likely a fire somewhere. Besides, if Mike Leach was such a horrible person, why would a major school (Washington State) hire him to turn their program around? Combine this with his (James) being affiliated with a corrupt college program and one can see how red flags can be raised with this dude.

Yes this Craig James is a P.O.S. and with his resume of scumbaggery appears to be quite qualified for a senate seat. The only silver lining here is that we now don't have to listen to his silly ass at game time.

It's Not Too Late. It's Never Too Late

Apparently Mrs. Palin has mentioned that it might not be too late for someone to jump into the race quite yet. I wonder if that "someone" would not be her. She opened the door a bit with her statements. Yea! That is just what the country needs. A quitter, possible philanderer(ess), and all around nut job in the race. Don't we already have too many fools and jackasses already? Is another one needed?

Good God! Will this sad comedy never end? If this keeps up I may write in the local bartender with my vote.

No wonder a good bit of the rest of the world is laughing at us. They shouldn't laugh real loud though. We ain't above whoopin a little ass.

Well I Guess You Can Just Call Me Jesus

You can call me Jesus from now on if you are so inclined. No not the Carpenter. Of course not. I am thinking more along the line of Jesus ("Hay Soos" for the uninitiated) the bus boy.

I guess my self imposed boycott of the products of Mexico is out the window. First it was Mexican Coke (soft drink of course. I ain't twenty years old anymore), and now this. It is the season for a bit of coffee liqueur and the best stuff comes from Mexico. I defy you to tell me otherwise. There is the old standby of course, but there are some other pretty tasty coffee liqueurs from down south that give the big boy a run for the money. Some a bit less sweet and more to my taste in fact. I have made a purchase. For this I am not proud.  I am a weak man.

Before long I suppose I will be hanging out with "The Most Interesting Man in the World" drinking a pretty decent Mexican beer. He always seems to have nice looking cougars in attendance so it can't be all bad.

You can find me by the dish washing machine if you would like to discuss this further.

Opportunity Or Danger?

It seems that the old freak King Jong Il has finally departed. Good I guess. Wonder what will happen next. Is his son to be next in line? Will the military leaders acknowledge his ascendancy to the throne? Who knows. It will be interesting.

It is doubtful that a 'revolution" of sorts will occur. At least not one sparked from the street. The people are too downtrodden and brainwashed to even think of such action I would wager.

Will North Korea continue to be Chinese puppet and be used mainly to distract and irritate her enemies in the region (along with the Western world)? It is rather doubtful that the Red Chinese would allow any reunification with the South. They fear a dagger at the heart which is exactly what a unified peninsula would represent to them. Unification would perhaps (or perhaps not) be the best scenario for the West. A militarily and economically powerful unified Korea would certainly frighten the Communist govt of China. However it would likely be a complete nightmare to drag the North Koreans out of the dark ages. Might not be worth the time and effort to do so. It would make the integration of Eastern Germany with the West look like child's play.

The evolution of human history sure is interesting.

Tell Me This Ain't True

Do you know who Craig James is? No? Well he is a busybody "announcer" on ESPN who seems to be more of a "legend in his own mind" than anything else. I do not like having to endure his nonsense when watching a game. A ass and no mistake is this James. He is also the same Craig James who tried his best to ruin "The Pirate's" career because his son whined about things going on in the Texas Tech football program. The problem is likely that the son; one Adam James, was not getting the playing time that he (and daddy) thought he deserved. I noticed that James (the son) is still on the roster at TTU and was getting plenty of time on the field. I figured the students in Red Raider land would have run this whiner out of town. Oh well..........

Now we learn that this James (Craig) is thinking about a run for the Senate. After all he is infinitely qualified; being a loudmouth know nothing P.O.S and all.

Athens, Texas: Battleground

I have lived in Texas for about 20 years or so and count myself no Texan. I agree with some that a whole lot of "Texans" can tend to be pretty silly about things. I find the Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University grads and supporters to be somewhat of a cult and I find the way deer are "hunt" in Texas to be a bit, shall we say, pussy. It ain't huntin if you are feeding the deer. May as well shoot a cow at the trough. How could I think otherwise about Texas? I am, after all, a Southeastern Conference man. Yes I know those silly Aggies have jumped from the frying pan into the SEC fire, but that is because they lean a bit toward stupidity. Not to get sidetracked here.....

Now with all that being said there are a few things about Texas that I do like. One is the whole "don't mess with Texas" thing is a "real deal." I have learned from hellonearth-1.blogspot.com (you should check out his "rule 5" postings)  that some fruitloop group that goes by the name of The Freedom From Religion Foundation has threatened court action if a nativity scene in front of the county courthouse, in the little Texas town of Athens, be removed. Also they are demanding some sort of new age asinine banner be placed in the vicinity also. Don't think either will happen. Funny, just yesterday or the day before I made mention that the "war" on Christmas has subsided a bit. Guess I was wrong.

In this country we do have freedom of religion along with freedom from religion and that is an excellent concept (and policy). Be that as it may, in this nation we are predominately Christian folk and a little nativity scene hurts no one. Be it in front of a courthouse or on private property.

I would rather doubt that the nativity scene in front of the courthouse in Athens will be coming down anytime soon. It would be my guess that it  really will not matter what any court somewhere rules on the issue. I say if the folk at this "Freedom from religion" group are that adamant about the whole thing then they should just come on down and try to dismantle the offending decorations.

Wonder how that will work out for them.

Rush The Righteous Blabbers A Bit Too Much

I am no fan of Ron Paul. He is a loon and no mistake. Yes, he is a pretty decent Congressman I admit and he does represent the district in which I reside but as a potential president.....? I don't think so. The man is just too much of a squirrel.
Now with that being said, today I was driving home from work and Rush was on the air. He was making fun of Dr. Paul with quite a bit of vitriol. That means one thing and one thing only. The Republicans (and Rush) are afraid of this man. That is OK in my book. I wouldn't support Paul any more than I would support that nut Palin, but it is nice that he frightens the "establishment." I am more a a Cain or Trump man myself. Yes Yes I know..Cain is a horndog and Trump is somewhat a clown. I understand and, for the most part, agree. I still think that either/or would be much better than any of the current cast of characters that we have now.

Let us be honest about the radio talking heads though. Rush, Hannity, and a slew of others, are nothing more than cheerleaders and jock sniffers.

Really?

Did President Obama really ask the Mohammedans for our captured drone to be returned? Please tell me he is not that obtuse. All is fair in love and war they say.

War "Over"

Supposedly the war in Iraq has ended. Troops are coming home and for that I am thankful. Now is the time to mourn those American and allied troops who paid the ultimate price in that sad, useless, land.  There are those who say the mission in Iraq is already a failure. There are others that say that it was a horrible, almost criminal, decision to get involved there anyway. It is hard to say who is right or wrong.

I suspect that the only ones who will benefit will be the Iranians. If allowed to do so, they will dominate their weak neighbor and perhaps the whole Gulf region. Geopolitics 101.  The desert "kingdoms" fear this to be the case and it will likely prove to be so. Unless the Iranian regime is contained, marginalized, and/or destroyed of course.

One can imagine that plans for the quick and total destruction of Iran have been long dusted off and are being refined daily. That is, after all, what we pay our nation's military for.

By The Stench of Dumbass Sheila Jackon Lee's Crown Weave; I Will See This Band

Rammstein is coming to Houston. By the stench of Dumbass Sheila Jackson Lee's crown weave.......I will see this band!!

"We Wish You a Happy Holidays?" Bugger Off!

The other day my daughter informed me that her school library book had different words for the old We Wish You a Merry Christmas tune. You can guess what the "new" version is of course. Yep that's right. We Wish You a Happy Holidays is the new way brothers and sisters. Of course I just told her that the old way was the real way and not to pay any attention to the "new lyrics." I did not mention of course that the "new tune" was something that bimbos, bozos, and buggers came up with to make everyone feel "included" (or something). I just left all that alone.

I think the whole "attack" thing on Christmas has sort of blown over anyway. I could be wrong there but I have not heard so much about a "holiday tree" this year.

This PC is ridiculous and if you are a practitioner of such nonsense, well, I wish you a very hearty and heartfelt "fuck off."

New Age Nonsense

I took a "Special Education Certification" test yesterday afternoon. Pretty sure I did OK.  I will know in a few days. I studied quite a bit of course and I should soon have another teacher "certification" under my belt. Not that it really matters. Very few good teaching jobs left in Texas. Unless you know or blow someone. Be that as it may, I was warned by a number of colleagues that the "common sense" answers on this particular exam are usually the wrong ones. Of course they are. These tests are devised by over "educated" Utopian dickweeds who don't know what they are about. Anyone with even half a brain can see this.........Divorced from reality is that crew.

Part of the problem with our country it seems. Common sense is thrown out the window for "feel good" solutions in all walks of life. How is that going to work out for us when we find ourselves in a real shooting war?

What a bunch of poseys we have become.

Was There Some Sort Of Debate Last Night?

Apparently there was some sort of presidential candidate debate evening last. I watched RGIII win the big trophy instead. A movie was next on the agenda. Both more interesting than watching a bunch of jackasses. One of them may get the opportunity to drag our country even further down the drain.

It is funny how both major political organizations in this land seem to put up nothing but loons (Paul), dunces (Obama, Perry),  corrupt criminals (Newt), and  horndogs, both proven and alleged(Cain, W.J Clinton) as choices. Hard to understand frankly.

When the time comes, I will likely "write in" my choice. I don't want to hear "a write in vote or a 3rd party candidate vote only helps Obama." Perhaps so, but do you really think any of the current crop of Republicans will be any better? Don't delude yourself.  We are all in a sinking ship and whether it is a Dem or Republican in office won't much matter. You can take that to the bank.

There is no one in the current crop who has the intestinal fortitude to do what is right by our country. No Lincoln, Reagan, or even JFK among the lot of them. Where is Alexander Haig when you need him?

I'm Feeling Girlish Today. Think I Will Use the Ladies Dressing Room

Apparently Macy's has fired one Natalie Johnson for not allowing a cross dressing man into the dressing area reserved for women. The nerve of that woman. Perhaps she did not get the memo on political correctness. This little episode has the usual suspects blowing their horns and banging their drums about "inclusion" and "discrimination," etc. etc.  Of course they are applauding the release of Ms. Johnson from employment.

I got news for ya pal. If you sport cock n balls then you are a male. You might want to be a women and you might even think that you really are a women. No matter. Your plumbing settles the question. Have a wing wong? The men's dressing room for you. You can wear a skirt if you like.

You know, on second thought, instead of feeling girlish, I feel like a Black man today. I want to be Black. I think I am so. I know I really should be. Therefore, despite all evidence to the contrary, I am a Black man. With all rights and privileges........

In a sane world Ms. Johnson would be right and Macy's wrong.

The Mohammedans are Coming. The Mohammedans are Coming.

It is being reported that some Muslim Brotherhood affiliated organizations are to have a "convention" of sorts at the Hilton Americas in beautiful downtown Houston.  Sneaking in at Christmas also it seems (if the reporting is correct). I will research this a bit further and just see if this is some crapola or the real deal. We know the Mohammedans are coming but just who these Muslims are is the question. A bit of investigative reporting perhaps is in order.  Of course anyone who makes such inquiries will be accused of not being "inclusive."

Or something.

Pearl Harbor and USCGC Taney

Today is Pearl Harbor Day. It was apparent on Sept 11, 2001 that we did not learn the lesson from Dec 7, 1941. Have we yet? Probably not. Be that as it may, today we honor the service people who fought and died on that fateful day 70 years back.

As a veteran of both the "Coastie" service and Naval Reserve I would point out that the Coast Guard was also in action that day. The USCGC Taney was moored at nearby Honolulu Harbor and participated in the defensive action. Today she is moored in Baltimore as a museum ship. A relic and a reminder.

Lady Gag Gag

I guess that Lady Gaga (Ga Ga? whatever) is naked in a music video. She is not the most attractive woman I have ever seen. By a long shot. I wish someone would just say "Please keep your clothes on." "For the sake of us all."

This is what our society has come to. Butt ugly babes "gettin nekkid" on TV.

No wonder the Mohammedans are pissed.

Newt? Really? Is That The Best You Can Do?

It seems that Newt is now to be taken seriously as a Republican candidate for POTUS. Amazing to be sure, but there you have it. It just seems that the folk want to keep Obama as president for another term. Hard to believe I know. Yes, Yes, I understand that Obama's poll numbers are very low but come on........Newt? Good Lord. The man is damaged goods to say the least. An opportunist and perhaps a sociopath this Newt. I don't think he is quite the cocksman that Clinton was (is?) and he might not even reach the (alleged) level of cocksmanship as Cain, but it is likely not from lack of trying. Besides, (and here we come to the crux of the matter), do we really want a POTUS named "Newt?" When I think of the word "newt" I don't think of the little living creature - no. I think of a shriveled up penis.

I don't know why.

The Far Right, The Silent Majority, and the Utopian Left Could Get On Board Here

It just seems that the defense of the nation would be a no brainer for anybody who has any sense at all. Instead we have some on the far left who are so anti military and national defense that they would probably be OK with the Cuban Navy shelling Key West. They often seem to believe that open borders are just Jim Dandy also. On the other hand, the far right, appears to discount any kind of  "alternative energy" methods that are in use or in the developmental stages. Energy independence is a national security issue also and if some alternative means are used to reach IE, then it is hard to understand their angst over the issue. Of course all grown ups know that fossil fuels power the nation......but alternative sources certainly can have their place.

Over at Furman University is appears that there has been some success at using "exercise machines" to generate a small amount of power. Interesting.....Perhaps we could lessen our dependence of foreign oil just a bit and solve the illegal immigration problem in the process. A win/win. Read on.....

There are God knows how many illegal aliens in country now and it is a problem. Perhaps one way to solve this problem and open a "pathway to citizenship" at the same time, would be to employ these said aliens.

It would be interesting if the govt set up huge facilities equipped with exercise machines to generate power. I am talking facilities with thousands and thousands of machines. It would certainly keep the illegals busy and gainfully employed generating "power" for the nation.

First and foremost, we need to have a nationwide "roundup" if you will of these folk. They would of course all have their background checked out and those with criminal records (other than just being illegal) will be deported. No further discussion. However, those with "clean" records can be offered a choice. Become a member of the "community" of power generation or be sent home. Those who elect to stay and work will of course be paid for their services and allowed to study to become U.S. citizens with perhaps some job training programs included as well.. It is a win/win for everybody. The illegals are taken out of circulation and those same illegal aliens will have a chance to work for the right to become American citizens. This should satisfy almost everyone.

The Utopian Left would not be able to gripe about lack of "alternative energy" being generated in the nation and the "commune like" atmosphere would appeal to a lot of them. The Ultra Right really could not argue with the methods and the middle of the road folk can see that there is a "path to citizenship" for those folk who are already here. Of course a few on the left will scream about "concentration camps" and even some middle of the road types might blather a bit about "gulags" or some such. The gulag thing wouldn't bother those on the far right a great deal.

If we are going to pull this off, we will need a good PR machine. Need folk to get on board with the program. Here and there as it might be.  Contract with Doyle Dane Bernbach Inc. or perhaps Olgivy & Mather to get the ball rolling. One can't help but think of some classic Dead Kennedy lyrics.."Jane Fonda on the screen today, convinced the liberals it's OK, so let's get dressed and dance away the night......." Yes a good PR/Advertising campaign is a must to convince a few doubters to get their mind right on the issue.

When the program is proven successful (and how could it not be?), it could then be expanded to ordinary prisons. Make prisoners earn their keep as it were. There could even be "voluntary" locations where just regular folk can get their exercise for free and generate some power in the process.

The possibilities are endless. It is a win/win for everybody.

Nothing wrong with a bit of "tongue and cheek" on a Tuesday morn. Is there?

Saturday Morning Rants

Saturday is upon us and the regular college football season is winding down. I am looking forward to a bit of football today especially the Iron Bowl and the Cajun/AZ match up. I have some interest in the Baylor/TTU clash, the USM/Memphis match up, and of course the Stanford/Notre Dame tilt. Michigan/OSU? Not interested. Sorry.

It appears that the NBA will start playing ball again. Does anyone really care?

I have been taken to task by my friend for my stance on Mexican Coke (soft drink). I know I boycott the products of Mexico but these soft drinks are just better than the American variety. They use real sugar. I already stopped buying Jarritos damn it. No sense being a fanatic about it. Is there?

Speaking of fanatics....This same friend took great offense to my stance on the Aggies. He said I "did not get it." No I guess I don't. He took issue on my comments about most of the "Corps of Cadets" not going into the military. Again I "just don't get it." I did get him to admit that most members of this esteemed body do not in fact take a military commission. Nuff said!! My "cultlike" statements concerning TAMU bothered him also. I stand by that. I have lived in Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Ohio and Florida (among others) during my many travels and I know a thing or two about fanatic fans. Nothing and I mean nothing I have ever seen even remotely resembles these Aggies. It is just not sports. It is the whole "Aggie thing." There is a strange religious aspect to it. It is almost a cult. I will not back down from this. I live among them ..............

I learned earlier today from Jayhawk that the OWS crowd now wants us to boycott the "big box" stores. I already try to avoid the Evil Empire but there are times when I find myself there. There are numerous reasons for avoidance but I guess the one that sticks out to me is that Wal Mart is a pain in the ass. I do indeed think they are part of the problem in damaging small business also. Still, I do some trading at the Empire. Here and there as it might be.

Guess that is about enough.

The OWS Crowd Does Have The Right To Protest

This OWS crowd really, for the most part, just seems to be a bunch of people hanging around "playing hippy." That is fine I guess. I fully support their right to "peacefully" assemble and protest whatever it is they are protesting. I support the right to assemble of course. It is what we can do here in this great land. I do not support those who say "just get rid of them in whatever way necessary." That is frankly Un American and dangerous. That being said, I also support any city management that says "enough is enough." At a certain point the protesters have to move onto greener pastures. A permanent "encampment" is not part of the deal.

Now, there will be a time when some folk get out of hand and will need to be sanctioned. There are some thugs who have decided to join in the OWS festivities and they will at some point leave their teeth prints on a nightstick. It will happen and they will likely have deserved it. Nothing to get in a twist over.

At the same time there will be (and perhaps already has been) incidents of the gendarmes using more force than necessary. A whole lot of cops have no business being allowed out in public armed with weaponry. Some are just thugs with some sort of penis issue.

That is just the way things are.

If There Was Any Doubt.....

If there was any doubt that LSU is indeed the number one team in the country those doubts were dispelled this afternoon. Even I am now completely convinced.

Germans Make it To Moscow and WIll Be in Houston Soon

Rammstein is again coming to the New World. They have already taken the East and will be coming West to Houston in a few short months. Enjoy Rammstein's Moskau. Jawohl Herr Korvettan Kapitan it should be a great show.

The End of an Era?

Last night the 'last' Texas/Texas Agricultural game was played. At least for a while. This year neither team is quite ready for prime time. The Horns have an atrocious offense and the defense keeps them in games. TAMU just has issues period. With the talent on that squad/...? The coaching staff has to be to blame. Texas won the game with a last second field goal sending the Aggies off to the SEC on a losing note. That was just a football game though and pretty much beside the point.

This particular match up begun in the 1890's, and has continued for every year since. Now some arrogant fools, on both sides, are ruining it because they can't get along? Does anyone have a noose? It is ridiculous. It is a travesty. It is criminal.

The multitudes who read my work know that I am far from an Aggies fan. I take issue with kids running around in military style uniforms who have no intention of joining any branch of the service. Now some do join of course and they have my respect and gratitude. It is those who do not become real service members who are offensive to me. As a veteran I take great offense to this. Also I live among these Aggies and the whole "worship" of the institution is vaguely cult like. This too is beside the point.

The problem is, it seems to me, is that those in College Station can not abide playing second (or third) fiddle in the Republic. While Aggie sports can easily be replaced by TCU or Houston (if invited) from strictly a prowess stand, the program can not be replaced when one looks at history. The Longhorn/Aggie match up is part of Texas. It is one of the premier games in college football and it is fun. Can you imagine ending the USC/UCLA rivalry? Auburn/Alabama? Ohio State/Michigan? Florida/FSU? Or a host of other regional rivalries that get less attention. It is the same thing. It is ridiculous. We have already seen the Oklahoma/Nebraska rivalry fall by the wayside. Now this!!!!

Now the Aggies have run off to the SEC where they will be about on par with Mississippi State or Ole Miss. Possibly a step above Kentucky on the gridiron. Their basketball program has had some recent success but in the SEC, basketball, with the exception of the Kentucky program, is somewhat of a sideshow.

These arrogant folks in leadership positions at both schools have nothing on the BCS when it comes to ruining a wonderful sport. It is sick and they should all be ashamed of themselves.

I guess it shouldn't matter to me. I am, after all, a Southeastern Conference man. But it does matter damn it.

Now where is that noose?

OWS Crowd Thinks They Are In Syria or Cairo

I think I have figured these silly OWS folk out. They think they are part of or at least in concert with the protesters of the "Arab Spring." That is it. A bit of solidarity as it were. It all sort of started with the pizza eating proletariat up there in Madison and just kind of went from there. Now the "Arab Spring" thing will likely turn out to be a disaster from a strategic standpoint but that is another issue entirely. For the average OWS type to compare themselves to those being gunned down in the streets is rather stunning and quite obtuse . They are allowed to have their protest in many cities (as Americans have the right to) with very few real sanctions, the "pepper spray incident" notwithstanding.

Try your ridiculous protests in Damascus and see how that works out for ya. Silly fuckers.

OMG! I am a Hypocrite

Well today is a day that we give thanks. Really though, for a a lot of us, it is a day to start thinking about good eats and junk to buy. Whether that is good or healthy or not.....? At any rate, along with the standard Thanksgiving fare I am hankering for a Coke. Not just any Coke mind you but one that is concocted in Mexico. They use real sugar in the manufacture down there and the end product is just better. By far. So you can just sue me. I willingly suspend my self imposed boycott of the products of that sad country when it comes to soft drinks. I just hope that Juan does not pee in the mix, although, if he does.... I am still in the market.

This Crime Wave Is Tearing Our Nation Apart

Lately vicious gangs terrorizing the few remaining law abiding member of Amish community have come to the attention of the country at large. What is really interesting here is this appears to be mostly an Amish on Amish phenomena. The most vicious of these groups is known as the "Mulletts"  This band of Amish desperadoes have been attacking others of the community and forcibly shaving their beards. They have been outrageous reports of electric razors being used in these attacks.

This phenomena should come as no surprise. It has long been known by law enforcement that the Amish are a highly organized and vicious criminal organization molded along the lines of the Black Hand. The fact that their criminal enterprise escape the attention of the public at large is the very successful sleight of hand employed by these Amish gangsters. Those who have investigated these criminals have discovered that the organization uses the manufacture and sale of fine furniture to fund their various other activities and to present, to the public at large, a aura of legitimacy. It has been pointed out that this is very similar tactic employed by outlaw biker gangs that support major charities through various motorcycle events.

It is likely that the "Mulletts" will be "sanctioned" by the Amish at large for bringing unwanted attention to the organization. One can only hope that an internal power struggle does not ensue and the conflict does not widen and further endanger the law abiding public.

Adios Mofos

In a few short hours the TAMU/Texas game will commence. There will be blood. The Aggies will be heading to mediocrity (at best) in the SEC and have destroyed this storied rivalry. This one really can't be blamed on the scramble to get into a "BCS" conference. This just has to do with petty petulance.
Also (and here we get to the crux of the matter) those fans in the SEC are not going to take kindly to a bunch of children "playing soldier." Those students who are actually going into the military after graduation will get a pass and should be shown respect and gratitude of course. As for the rest? Most folk quit "playing army" around the sixth grade.

By The Sweat of Dumbass Sheila Jackson Lee's Buttocks - I Will See This Band

Rammstein is coming to Houston. Quite a few months yet to wait but it will be worth it. Enjoy Reise Reise. Brothas and Sistas it should be a great show.

Putting the Arrogant in Their Place? Priceless

It seems as if a Mr. Brinkley and Rep Young (R) AK. had a bit of a discussion. Whether or not I would agree with the Congressman on the larger issue is not the point. It is refreshing to see a member of the public treat these folk how they deserve to be treated. Members of Congress, from both parties, have been damaging this country for far to long. Funny thing--check out the little hooker behind Young. Apparently she is not used to someone talking to her pimp in that manner. Perhaps she should get used to it.

The Pepper Spray Episode

Well UC Davis Police Lt. John Pike will likely be in a bit of hot water. Just can't go around spraying kids who are sitting on a sidewalk. Not a good move Barney. Of course the whole thing is pretty amusing and one can't help but chuckle a little bit. Kind of a "take that you little snotnose" type of thing.

By The Prophet's Scrotum I Will See This Band

Tickets already in hand. It will be quite a few months before they make it to Houston but it will be worth the wait. Enjoy Rammstein's Wilder Wein. It should be a great show. Allah willing.

Bleating About This,That, and the Other Thing On A Sunday Morn

It seems as if Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake were both invited to be dates by members of the Marine Corps to the storied Marine Corps Ball. Both accepted and showed that not all Hollywood types are pinkos, jerk offs, and dickweeds. Good for them.

Bob Schieffer had Ron Paul on as a guest this morning on Face The Nation. This Schieffer is a old fruit and pretty typical of the "media elite" Ron Paul, while having some good ideas on some issues, is just way off base on many others. He is just a bit nuts. Sue me.

On another one of the Sunday morning programs there was a segment on a Muslim man who owns a "Kosher" deli. Good for him. It seems to be working out. This is what America is all about. This is the United States and we just don't want some Jewish/Muslim conflict here. For those who wish to continue that particular conflict here I ask you to take a permanent trip back to the Middle East and cut each others throats if you so desire. Mohammedan beware though; the United States will never allow the destruction of Israel.

If you live here then put American interests first and leave your third world conflicts behind.  That being said, I have a distinct distrust for followers of the Prophet. Something to to do with an episode about ten years back. Something to do with militant Islamists in Europe and even right here in our country.  I support Israel in their conflict with the Mohammedan but if you live here in this country best leave that crap alone. I'm talking to both of you.  Put America first and be American or be gone. That goes for anyone from anywhere.

This wonderful nation has people from all over the world and that makes us great. That being said it is time to put the brakes on immigration. We can start by militarizing and sealing the southern border. We just can not afford any more of the world's poor and downtrodden. No more room at the inn. Sorry.

I actually like the postal service and would like to see it remain intact.

You know it is high time that we stop the outsourcing of jobs to foreign (and often enemy) nations. If an American company wishes to manufacture overseas so be it I suppose. Don't put that stuff on a ship and try to sell it back to us though. People are sick of that. Either bring those jobs back home or close up shop. Manufacture overseas? Like I just said......Do not have the audacity to ship your crap back here. This is serious business. There are already rumblings at the grass roots about this issue and it is growing louder by the day. At some point there may be serious backlash against those that continue this practice with a hangman's noose waiting for the unlucky. Far fetched? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Who knows what course that a nation's history will take?

As a proponent of Capitalism it goes against the grain to be anti-business per se. However, a business must not be an engine that damages the well being of the nation (see above). I will use Allstate Insurance as an example (if for no other reason then I have had less than stellar experience in dealing with these thieves). If you have noticed Allstate spends a huge amount of money on advertising. Spending your premiums to attract more premiums as it were. Trying to gather even more cash for what basically is a public service. Try to get Allstate to pay a fair and equitable claim is somewhat of a chore. Try it. Almost impossible in many cases. Even folks who work for their competitors speak of the dishonest business tactics that are rampant at Allstate. Unethical business practice seem to be standard operating procedure with the "Good Hands" folks.

Did you know that the OWS crowd and the Tea Party are, in fact, very similar? Oh does that offend you? Sorry. While the tactics and the belief systems are different (assuming we know what the OWS crowd actually believes), the core belief may well be similar. Both groups know that the country is on the wrong track. Problem is.....no one knows what to do about it. Voting for cookie cutter politicians does not seem to be the answer. Both groups sense that the country is being sold a bill of goods and are frustrated with the direction this country is headed. Aren't we all?

I wonder if the Herman Cain camp has sent a thank you note to folks at Penn State. The Sandusky affair has taken a bit of the limelight off old Herman's (alleged) poontangin. Perhaps the crowd at Hallmark could come up with some cutesy poems just for cases like this.  Here and there as it might be.

That is about enough I guess.

A Real Writer

E C Stilson has released her book The Golden Sky just a few short hours ago. I will be making a purchase very soon. She is a wonderful writer with a story to tell. You will likely be hearing more from here as time goes by.

I don't know how I ran across her blog but I am glad I did so. Check her out at ecwrites.blogspot.com

Way to go Elisabeth!!!!!!

Astros To Quit Playing Baseball

Astros to quit playing baseball? Well sort of. It looks as if the Houston team's move to the American League is all but a done deal. They won't be playing real ball anymore. If a DH is used, then baseball is just not being played. I won't be spending any money to see it. Better things to do with my time and money.

Even a Scumbag Can Get It Right Sometimes

The following has been attributed to Newt:

We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto."

If this quote was indeed something that Newt came up with, well, I have to agree. Sorry. Yes, I know Newt is scum but he has a valid point.

When immigrants came here in time past, there was no "bilingual education." I am not sure if I would be in favor of a complete phase out but perhaps limiting "bilingual" classes to no more than one year per student. Why? The whole "program" is a drain on resources. English is, like it or not, the language of the U.S. It is the language of the historical victor. It is the language of commerce. It is, as quoted above, the common language of the country. That is just the way it is.

Every student should learn more than one language. If a student comes here fluent in Spanish, then they have a leg up already. English language speaking students should learn a language that will be useful. Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, German, and Farsi come to mind. Spanish should of course be offered as a choice to the English speaking student but it perhaps should not be "sold" by school counselors as the most useful. It is the language of poverty. It is the easy way out.

It is a fact that Spanish is the language of a goodly portion of the "third world." With the exception of Spain itself, it is the language of the poor and downtrodden. Spanish speaking students should be immersed in the English language and English speaking students should be aware that Spanish is of little use in the real world. It is nice to know of course but certainly not necessary.

Open A Series of Southern Ellis Islands

The other day I was watching a show concerning Ellis Island. Interesting history. Perhaps it is about time to consider something along those lines on our border with Mexico.

It goes without saying that Mexico is to be considered a parasitic nation at best and perhaps an enemy of the U.S. at worst. Probably somewhere in between. It does indeed appear to be policy to encourage their most desperate (and therefore most dangerous) to "immigrate" north. They have only recently begun to pay more than lip service to combating the drug gangs that control large swaths of territory. We, in this country, do not need anymore of Mexico's "problems." Extreme poverty along with revolutionary and criminal elements are issues to be sorted out by Mexico. I don't want to hear the standard "if Americans did not consume drugs then the gangs would be irrelevant." While there may be truth to this it is still not the problem of the United States (at this point) to crush the insurrectionists.

With the "war" in Mexico just across the border (and spilling into our country), and the problems of illegal immigration becoming a major drain on the resources of our nation, it is high past time to close the border by maintaining a permanent military presence and opening "reception centers" to screen those who would be considered entry.

It is not "racist" to institute measures to protect a nation. Or perhaps it is....No matter. A nation must do what is in the best interest. Something our leaders have long forgotten.

It Would Be Refreshing If........

Herman Cain, Wicky Wacky Wu, Wiener's Weiner, Bill, Groper Al......the list goes on. It would seem that our political class has some wing wong problems. The Cain thing seem a bit manufactured but who's to say really? We collectively seem to hold our "leaders" to a higher standard than the car salesman down the street. Funny that it is more likely that those in leadership positions tend to have more sexual peccadilloes than the average Joe. Just the way it is I guess. A power thing as it might be. Something for "psychologists" to sort out I suppose.

Wouldn't it be nice if we actually had some honest folk running for office?

What would say a Charles Barkley do if asked by a reporter about his past? Wilt Chamberlain ( may he RIP)? "Mr Chamberlain I understand that you are a man who likes(ed) his pussy?" "Why yes, yes I do." Or something along those lines. After that is out of the way, real issues can be discussed.

How about some former rock star being presented with the same question. "C'mon. I was a rock star." "Next question."

After we get the wing wong things out of the way we can then allow our elected officials to get on with business. We should pretty much take for granted that most of those running for high office are fucked up in some way or other.

Usually it has something to do with their peter.

Obama Probably Won't Strike The Persians

There has been some rather under the radar speculation that President Obama would consider a military strike on Iran. It goes without saying that when coalition forces finally leave Iraq for good then the hand of the Persians will be strengthened in the region. Geopolitics 101. Now with the likely Iranian nuclear program moving forward one would think that the time is ripe for a preemptive strike with strategic arms. After all we are now in a "low level" war with Iran now and we do have an interest in keeping the Iranians contained so as not to interfere with our energy needs. It is (almost) a foregone conclusion that there will be a major military clash at some point. I submit that Obama would initiate action if his poll numbers go much lower or he begins to become seriously threatened by a Republican challenger.

Therein lies the issue. The Republicans are imploding and it is quite possible they are not a danger to unseat Obama. That is hard to believe frankly, but there you have it.

People across the land are learning what we in the Republic have known all along about Perry.

Romney is just a politician and should be trusted by no one.

Cain is being accused of being some sort of man "who likes his pussy." Something not right there. Someone is getting paid somewhere. The whole thing seems just a bit manufactured. Be that as it may, it is an issue and is damaging Cain's chances.

Newt now "surging" in the polls? The game is up if that amoral freak is one of the "leaders" in the race. Hell that nut Palin may as well jump in at this point.

Paul has no real shot. The establishment and their radio host lackeys do their best to discredit him. He scares them. Of course he does has some pretty loony ideas.........

No one else is in the Republican field is worth mentioning.

Nope Obama will not strike Iran. He doesn't have to politically at this point. While there certainly is a need to do so and do so quickly from a strategic standpoint; there is no need for the POTUS to initiate action due to domestic politics.  Apparently that is more important than our legitimate national defense needs.

That is a sad state of affairs.

Fifth Column At Work and On Your Dime

Apparently some silly, ivory tower type; one Michael Avery, has come out against "care packages" sent to our troops. It seems there is a campus wide care package campaign underway and this Avery character has deemed it offensive and inappropriate. His opinion of course and he is entitled to such. That does not mean that I won't call him out though. This guy is a prick and no mistake. A law school "professor" from Massachusetts is this one. Wonder why that is not surprising.

Good Hair! What About This?

Apparently Good Hair made some gaffes the other night during the debate. Anyone who has watched this Good Hair for a while knows he is not the man for the job. Now the whole country is getting a taste of the buffoonery that we in Texas have endured for a while. One the the things that Good Hair (remembers he) wants to be rid of is the US Dept of Education. Now that does sound pretty enticing but the education system in Texas is still dealing with the destructive Texas Ed. Agency (TEA). It still is here damaging the educational system in the Republic. Why did he not lobby to get rid of this counter productive state agency?

 Rick is full of bull.

If you didn't know that already then you are learning fast. Not that it really matters. A hog's ass has more chance of being elected POTUS than this walking Vitalis advertisement.

Number One and No Mistake

Yesterday evening I went over to a friend's house to watch the LSU/Alabama match up. Had a pretty nice time indeed. Old Les had a bit too conservative game plan in my opinion but the only thing that really mattered in that game was the numbers on the board at the end. LSU is the indisputable number one team at this point. Of course the "analysts" on ESPN have already crowned them the "national champions" but there is just a bit too much football left to be played to go there quite yet. One thing I do not like is the ridiculous college overtime. Either play another quarter or just call it a tie.

Now the evening was not without flaws. Mark is a huge LSU fan but there were some other games of importance in progress at the same time. I would have liked to have dropped in on the Arkansas/South Carolina, KSU/OSU, and perhaps Houston/UAB. At least two of these games may have national implications. I was sorry to see OSU skate by the Wildcats but happy to see the Hogs run past the Gamecocks. The outcome of the Cougar/Blazer game was a foregone conclusion. Anyway it is his house and his rules so we really did very little channel surfing. No big deal really.

Toward the end of the evening Mark asked me if I would like to partake in some "Native American" corn. I found that he was talking about candy corn with some chocolate in the mix. It was damn good.
It was really called Brach's Indian Corn but Mark said he was just trying to be politically correct in calling it Native American. Now funny thing about this Indian corn is that it was made in Mexico. Should it not be called Aztec corn or something? Why is it made in Mexico in the first place? Do we not have people who would be happy to be working the line at a candy plant at this point in our history? I think we do. Brach's should be ashamed of themselves. Of course they need to get in the very very long "shame" line. It is becoming sickening how these companies outsource our jobs to foreign lands and then have the audacity to try to sell us those same goods.

Oh well.

I hope Juan did not pee in the sugar mix to get back at the evil Gringo.

One has to think of these things.

Thugs Have Occupied the "Occupy Movement"

It didn't take long did it? This silly little occupy thing has moved beyond just a bunch of wannabe and ex hippies singing, smoking dope, and fornicating. The "movement" has now been hijacked by real thugs. How predictable that was. Soon the citizenry in various locales will be demanding an end to this nonsense. Don't be surprised (and don't whine) when a few heads are busted by the gendarmes. Please don't bother me with crybaby nonsense when a shop owner defends their property (and perhaps life) by sending a punk to a premature appointment with the Man upstairs. I don't want to hear it.

Herman On My MInd

Well the politics of destruction have begun in earnest now. Who is to blame for the likely politically motivated attack of Mr. Cain? Is it the left? What about one (or more) of his Republican opponents?Either would not surprise me. Perhaps it is just plain old investigative journalism that has caught Mr. Cain by the shorts. Who knows?

I have not really paid all that much attention to the whole mess frankly. Anyone who runs for public office needs to have been a saint in their life it seems. Who among us can say that? Any candidate for office should expect to have their background looked into in great detail by their political opponents as well as those who practice real journalism. It is laughable when one group gets their panties in a knot over one of their own getting caught with his pants down. Remember the Weiner's wiener thing. The frutloops of the left were crying foul by saying it was those on the right who would not let the issue go. The same thing happens in reverse. One man's investigative journalist is anothers' "journalistic terrorist" it appears.

I really don't care if Cain asked for a bit of nookie a few years back. The issue is really between Cain and his wife. I might add that if one does not ask, then how will one get laid in the first place?

If I were a betting man I would say that the thing is a politically motivated "investigation" by the some on the left. You see Cain, being a Black man, has strayed just a bit too far off the plantation for their tastes. The brother just won't get with the program you see. If a Black man has conservative values and does not subscribe to the left's image of the "down trodden," then they are a danger to the "cause." It is fair game to destroy them because, after all, a Black person with conservative values can not possibly be a really Black. It is not racist to attack a person with that particular belief system you see. Now if someone verbally attacks Sharpton, Jackson, Jeremiah Wright or (God forbid), President Obama, well then the gloves are off. That is racist you understand. You would be attacking one of the left's "house Negroes" you see. That is unforgivable you understand. Racist? The leftists in this country have been using the politics of race for a very long time. It is not that they see minorities as necessarily equal. On the contrary in fact. What they do see however is that they are useful.

Any member of a minority group who does not have their "mind right" is a danger and it is perfectly within bounds to attempt to destroy them. That is the mentality of the fringe left.

Now if  Cain's (Republican) opposition is behind the "revelation" that he may have been (or is) a horndog... well, that just means they fear him.

Pretty simple stuff.

Some Sunday Morning Ranting

As usual there are some things that just need to be said. What better time than a pleasantly cool Sunday morning to bray about this or that. Well here you go......

It appears that Missouri will leave the Big Twelve and move onto greener pastures in the SEC. Oh well. Don't let the door hit you. WVU will more than replace Mizzou. The Mountaineers say they are making a move. This "realignment" mess in college football is getting a bit old.

The act of war that Iran (allegedly) attempted to perpetrate on our shores has sort of fallen out of the news of late. I don't know why. Perhaps it is because it was a hairbrained, not well executed, plan. That is neither here nor there. It was an act of war. Just because it did not work out for the Persians does not mean that it was not warlike activity. If a nation shoots a missile at the assets of another country but the missile goes haywire a lands in a field somewhere is that still not an act of war? Same thing in my book. Iran should be on fire right about now. Oh does that bother you? Sorry.

I watched a show the other day about a group of sailors who are bomb disposal experts in Afghanistan. It was interesting to say the least. We have an awesome group of young people defending our country. Now on the flip side, I also watched a show aptly named the Glam Fairy recently. This show is an offshoot of the ridiculous train wreck Jerseylicous. I had to watch you see. The people on some of these reality shows are so stupid it is just hard not too. Anyway on this Glam Fairy show there was a "glam fairy" who goes by the moniker "Glammo." He is all "about fashion" you understand. He was having some sort of dispute with another beauty shop type and they were getting a bit out of hand. As I said it was hard not to watch. At any rate, it occurred to me that our military forces are being paid to defend us and some of "us"  are just stupid. A bit depressing really.
You know what? Screw it! I am not going to tread lightly here. There is nothing wrong with being gay (in my humble opinion), and even the repeal of DADT does not bother me. That being said, do you not look sometimes at these absolute flamers that are paraded before us and wonder why we are told we are bad people for feeling just a bit disgusted? I understand a person is who they are and have no choice in the matter, but is it not just a bit natural to feel a bit of nauseated after watching some of these folk. You know it to be true. Whether you admit it, even to yourself, is another matter.

Did I mention that I like this old guy named Crockett Keller? No? Well I do. I might discuss him a bit later but this Jesus thing is fermenting now and I must strike while the iron is hot.

Would you allow your child to go trick or treating dressed as Jesus of Nazareth? I would not either. What about Mohammed? I would not myself but for entirely different reasons. Jesus is my saviour, (and like most I am sure I don't deserve His grace), and Mohammed was likely nothing more than a warlord. If I am wrong about the "Prophet" then I am wrong. Of course the point is really moot I suppose. No one really knows for certain what Jesus or Mohammed looked like. I am pretty sure no one will cut your head off though if you chose to dress in the "image" of Jesus the Carpenter. People will talk some shit about you sure, but that will probably be about it. Try trick or treating as Mohammed in certain neighborhoods (even) in this country. Let me know how that works out.

The Republican race goes on and on. I sort of like this Cain. Perry is not your guy. Trust me on this. A panderer and coward is that one.

Have you noticed that it was OK for Jeremiah Wright to spew racist hatred from the pulpit but one old Texas fart is being blasted for saying things far less offensive in his radio spot? That is America for you. Some on the "left" are all about free speech you see until you "offend" them. A lot of them need to be offended on a regular basis. It is easy to write them off as just silly screechers but some are actually fifth columnists and a danger. But you already know that.

That is about enough for one sitting.

Out of the Woodwork

It appears that Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seeger have joined in on this so called "occupy" movement that has come in vogue of late. One of them, Guthrie I think, is now in his 90's and apparently he led these neo hippies in song, poetry, or some such shiiite. That's ok I guess. If Guthrie and Seeger wish to relive their "glory" days a bit then more power to them. It is a bit silly of course, but at their age........Why not? It is sort of the same as rooting for an advanced aged bank robber I suppose. You know it is stupid but you kind of pull for them anyway.

Tune in, turn on, drop out, and don't let "the man" get you down. Whatever that means.

Crockett Keller: Ballsy Old Bastard

I just watched a video that features one Crockett Keller of Mason, Tx. discussing his radio spot advertising his concealed carry service to the citizenry in his locale. Unbelievably non PC! It seems that Keller does not wish to conduct classes for Obama supporters and flat refuses to train "non Christian Arabs" in the fine art of handgun safety. Of course the whining has begun. I am sure that this ballsy old cuss will find that his business will be audited or he will face some other type harassment from the bureaucrats of the "Republic" or FedGov. If I were a betting man, I would wager that the radio station folk who ran his advertisement will feel some sort of heat also. A restaurant does not serve one with "no shirt or shoes," so why would old Crockett not have the same type say in running his business?.

Of course, in this country, discrimination is a huge no-no.  Let us be honest though; Isn't this old dude a bit refreshing? Who among us does not harbor some distrust toward Mohammedans? You don't? C'mon. Be honest with yourself. Let's try again. Do you harbor some distrust toward the followers of the Prophet? Still no? Well you are either a better man than me or you choose to keep your head buried in your hindquarters.

I like this Keller. It is kind of fun also that he has perhaps the best "Texas" name I have ever heard.

Crockett Keller? Wasn't he at San Jacinto?

Senatorial Nut Scratchers

I have noted that at least two reputable sources have mentioned that some Democrats in the Senate have called on MLB to ban the chewing of baccy. Of course Dick (Where's your turban?) Durbin is among those leading the charge. Why is that not surprising? Don't these loudmouth hoors have more important problems in the country to worry about? Oh wait...they are the problem.

Adios to a "Military Man"

Well the Colonel is no longer with us. No one is going to mourn this scumbag but one certainly has to wonder what will come next. Will there be another radical Mohammedan regime just across the small pond from Europe? If I was a betting man.............

On a side note; did you notice the savages dancing around Khaddafy's (my favorite spelling) body? Yep that good old "Arab Spring" will likely prove to be more dangerous to the West than the good Colonel ever was.

A Bit More Advice for A Young Lad

After reading my last post you still are thinking of tying the knot are you? OK. You need to know a few more things before you take that final leap.

As with the green grocer, expect to spend a lot more time in department stores than you ever have before. Expect to hear about the money that your wife "saved" after one of these trips. Don't give into the temptation to mention that you are three hundred dollars lighter in the wallet and don't understand how that is saving money. That will just end up making your day seem very long indeed. Oh and by the way; Do you know what 'thread count" means?  No? You will learn.

Fully expect for your new bride to call her mother after you have a disagreement. You might be surprised to learn that your new mother in law may just take your side. After all, she knows her a lot better than you do at this point. In a short time though you will know things about your bride that her mother has no clue of. That can be good. That can be bad.

Expect for any trip out of town to take much longer than you are used to. I don't know why a three hour trip suddenly becomes a five hour journey. Just the way it is. It is like a union rule or someting.

It would probably not be a good idea to mention that you think it would be fun to have intercourse with your new wife's sister or best friend. Keep that between you and your God. If you actually have had relations with one of the above, well,..............You're on your own buddy. Good luck with all that.

Just a couple more things for you to ponder. Hope it was helpful.

Advice For A Young Lad

So you are thinking about getting married eh? As a man who is on his sixth wife, (not really but stating such is an attention getter in conversation), I can tell you that there are a few things that are going to be changing in your life. If you don't realize that early, and get with the program, then you will have a few eye opening experiences. You may not like them.

One thing you will have to get used to is spending a long long time grocery shopping. It just seems to take women longer than most men to visit the green grocer. One way to get around this is to do the shopping yourself. Of course that in itself may be a source of conflict. Now if you are going to do the shopping you probably have to learn how to do it the proper way. You will learn this shopping with the wife (unless mommy taught you). You learn how, then just do it faster. You may already know how to shop properly. Probably not though, unless you are a wedding planner or interior decorator. If that is the case you probably would not be getting married anyway. Unless of course you live in state that allows alternative marriage.

Honesty is not always the best policy. Now I am not advocating being a liar, but there are just some things that need to be kept to yourself. If you go for a steak dinner and beers to a "gentleman's club" with your buddies, then it is perhaps best to just not mention it. Keep the venue to yourself as it were. If you foolishly mention that you went with the boys from the office to a titty club, fully expect your wife to not quite understand. It does not matter if they have the "best steaks in town." That won't work. She won't get it. You might not be getting any either.

Never under any circumstances just go buy a vehicle on your day off  without consulting with the boss. This one took me a while to get. I must be a hammerhead. It did it twice. I won't make the same mistake a third time I can tell you that. Don't believe me? Go ahead and bring that big truck home.

Fully expect to be informed that you will be going someplace or other. If the wife brings home tickets to the ballet then just sack up and go. Don't bitch and try not to act bored (if possible). If the big game is scheduled at the same time well then that is just too bad. Trust me on this.

Expect a project to be scheduled for you when you have plans to go fishing or something. Sometimes a compromise can be worked out in such cases. Sometimes not.

Expect for your wife to dislike some of your friends. You have to choose. If you have any maturity about you then you know what the choice will be. Of course some women are insufferable and it might just be best to keep the friends and ditch the wife. It happens. Most young guys have friends that are just fools. Some never ever grow up. You can admire them from afar but realize that they will likely, in the long run, be lonely.

Fully expect your wife to not understand you affinity for Asian (or any other kind) of porn. If you know who Long John was or would recognize Peter North at the green grocer then perhaps you should keep it to yourself. Of course there are those women.........

If you like to poon gaze (and who doesn't?) it is best to develop very discreet tactics when engaging in said activity. Expect to be questioned about it when you get caught (and you will). Thankfully this becomes less of an issue the older you get. Or at least it should.

A girls night out is something you will have to get used to most likely. These are wonderful opportunities to have a bit of time to yourself. You will learn that. Expect your wife to perhaps not understand you going "out with the boys" however.

This is just a small sample of things you will have to get used to. Stick it out (if you can). It really is for the best.

A Few Thoughts for Friday

TGIF. I have not been keeping up a much with the news of late; too busy. Thankfully I am off today and will waste time (yours and mine) on blogging. A few thoughts to get the ball rolling.....

What are these "occupy" protesters protesting exactly? Is it the banks? Of course some bankers are scum and have done their part to get us involved in this financial mess we are in. Lawyers are scum also. Do we protest in front of their offices? I suppose we should include Allstate Insurance to the list. I know that company is full of scumbags. I have felt their "good hands" before. Worse than a visit to a doctor with fingers the size of a lumberjack.

TCU to join the Big XII? Sounds like a winner. The conference needs to do something to avoid going the way of the pterodactyl. TCU more than replaces those silly Aggies. It will be hard to replace Nebraska though. That is a shame. College football is in flux. It is most likely the fault (to some extent) of the asinine BCS system. I propose we occupy NCAA, ESPN and BCS offices. Does the BCS actually have an office? Is it some sort of star chamber type thing? I don't know. Do you?

Notre Dame is really considering joining a conference in football? Say it ain't so. I guess just skating along on their name and ancient gridiron glory is not enough anymore.

It is being reported that the laws against "dwarf tossing" may be repealed in Florida. Sounds good to me. If a little person wants to be thrown around in a bar for pay well that is their business.

Jimmy Carter is a dunce for giving away the Panama Canal. I guess it would not be PC to take it back at this point.

Hugo Chavez is going to nationalize some oceanfront property on an island off "his" coast. Perhaps the property owners should apply the scorched earth policy and run for the boats. I don't buy Citgo gasoline because of this Chavez trash. I apologize to the good Americans who are employed by Citgo. I have nothing against them personally. Maybe we should do something about the ownership of this particular energy company. Perhaps we should do something about Chavez also. Perhaps call Dale Gribble. He's a merc isn't he? A pest control exterminator mercenary as it were. I once knew a carpet cleaner who claimed to be a demonologist. I called him "Bud the carpet cleaning demonologist." He sort of made me nervous.

I suppose that HLN is going to broadcast the Michael Jackson trial thing non stop. After all the Casey Anthony deal has pretty much gone away. It is amazing that Americans continue to watch these loud mouth hoors with their sensationalistic style of "journalism."  Oh well can't blame the network. They are just providing a service I suppose.

Have you seen the new Gears of War commercial? I like that vato. I like that. I may actually go out and buy it so I can waste even more time when I should be doing something constructive.

Halloween is upon us. I am getting ready for the local "evangelical" churches to begin their yearly campaign against satanism, witchcraft, paganism, etc. etc. What a bunch of freaking loons. I never have seen Old Scratch on Halloween. Have you? If Lucifer appears in the driveway then perhaps I will get on board with the fundamentalists on this issue. Till then? STFU.

My friend Mark was rude to some Mormons the other day. I was sort of embarrassed. They did leave though. I will say his method does work. This is the same guy that told a Muslim woman that he "hoped she did not have a bomb under that suit." I am glad I was not present for that episode.

Swing on by later. I will be happy to waste more of your time.

I Will Stay a Saints Fan. Thank You For Your Concern

The other day I sort of watched the Saints/Texans match up. I rooted for the Saints. If you have to ask why, then you just don't get it.

I understand why, after having lived in the Houston area for round bout 20 years, that someone would question the validity of remaining a fan of an out of town team. I have lived in the Houston area a good deal longer than in Louisiana, much less the NOLA area. But having lived in the New Orleans area it goes without saying frankly that I would still root for the Saints. It is cultural. If one has lived in that area for any length of time, then one begins to feel a part of something. A part of true American history. One can feel the spirits, if you will, whenever one is in old New Orleans. It has a charm and something else that I can't figure out that no place else I have found, with the possible exception of San Francisco and maybe Memphis, has. It is just a feeling I suppose.

Going to watch a Saints game in the outdated Super Dome is a treat. It is something that can not be replicated in any venue in the country. Whether the Saints win or lose is often not really relevant. No one is  going to bother you if you come to the game rooting for the other team. It is just not that important. To be there and have a good time is the whole point of going to the game. It is fun of course when they win but no one in the area ever really expects much to come of any team the Saints field.

Going to a Texans Home game in Reliant Stadium is not the same thing. No comparison. How could it be?

Not that I have anything bad to say about Houston. Nice city sure. Being downtown late in the evening is something special. It is relatively safe as such things go, although it is well to keep aware of your surroundings. A sense of quiet solitude comes over me when wandering or when, in the past, I sat in my taxi waiting for a night owl, out of town sport, to go on an adventure. There are a great many adventures to be had in Houston and any cabbie worth their salt knows just where an adventure can be experienced. All in the name of customer service you understand.

Yep Houston is a very nice place indeed but it just is not New Orleans. Something I just can't quite put my finger on is missing here that can be felt in the Crescent City. If you don't know then you just don't know. That is forgivable I guess.

Putting Criminals to Sleep is Again a Hot Button Issue

The other day one Troy Davis was "put to sleep" for the crime of being a cop killer. There is some doubt apparently (if we are to believe the "news" reports), that the man is indeed the actual killer. I suppose the point is moot now. The man is no longer with us.

There is no problem with putting vicious criminals to sleep. "Smoke em if you got em" I always say. Better make damn sure; without a doubt sure; that they are indeed guilty. If there is any doubt whatsoever then it is dead wrong (no pun intended) to apply the death penalty.

There are reports that Good Hair has allowed some to be put to sleep when there may have been evidence that guilt was in doubt. If Perry allowed this, for purely political (or any other) reasons, then he should be investigated and, if guilty, sanctioned according to the law. Now most of the fanfare comes from his political enemies including one ultra left wing Austin rag. The fact that the newspaper has a silly, ultra left, we are the world bent, does not diminish the fact that they may indeed be onto something.

If they are journalists worth their salt then they need to work their case to conclusion.

It is their job.
