Obama Is Probably Not Any Worse Than His Republican Challengers

Good Hair has finally bowed out of the race. All hat no cattle Rick is. Didn't take America long to figure that out. I often wonder why those in the Republic keep this guy hanging around. It can't be for laughs. He is just not that funny. Oh and some non entity named Huntsman has decided to call it quits also.

Lately I have been wondering if Obama is a bad as is popular to believe. He did after all keep after Bin Laden and now the "man" swims with the fishes. It is likely that we will see the rough side of the President when he finally has enough of the Persian (or when his poll numbers drop). I wager that the sharp edge will come through. I still can't seem to give the man any credit however. I do wonder though; who of the Republicans will be any better? As far as I can tell none of them will.

What a sad state of affairs for our country to be in at this moment in history.

Out of His League

I am not really much a fan of President Obama. I don't find him to be "evil" or anything, I just think he is in way over his head with the job of President. Now one thing that lingers with me is the nagging doubt that the man is even legally qualified. Don't get me wrong; I am not saying that the man is not an American citizen but I want to see the birth certificate. Does that make me a birther? Perhaps. Is it such a hard thing to have the man's record of birth published? It seems that this would be one of the first things that the American people were shown just as soon as the question came up. It does make one wonder. Now if the President was not born in the United States and people in his organization knew about it; what does that say about the integrity of the process? I guess that is kind of a stupid question. Most folk seeking to ride the coat tails of power have very little integrity.

Now a related question that seems to be coming up concerns Obama and Islam. There are a great many people who believe him to be a Mohammedan. I am not one of those. I refuse to believe it to be the case. Or could it be that I just don't want to believe it.  I do recall that Colin Powell mentioned that it really should not matter even if Obama is a follower of the Prophet? I agree to some extent. As long as the American people knew that Obama was a practitioner of the "religion of peace" (wonder who thought that one up), and the American people still voted for the man, then it would not matter in the least. If however, the voters did not know the candidate was a Muslim and it was concealed from them then, well, that is a different animal altogether. It is interesting that he (Obama) was associated with the Very Reverend Wright who is supposedly a Christian minister. Of course Wright being a Christian is a matter of debate but that is another topic for another time. Or not.  After having to cut bait with this Wright (for obvious reasons) I have found it interesting that Obama has not found another home, so to speak, to worship. Kind of breaking with tradition. In my memory, all who hold the office, tend to wear their Christianity on their sleeve. Remember the giant Bible that Bill Clinton paraded around like a trophy wife? Obama does not seem to feel the need to do that. For that, I suppose, I give him some credit. If you don't "feel" it don't pretend I always say. Still it is a break with tradition. Does this make him a Muslim? I think not but I will say that in the back of my mind there is always the small doubt that Obama is in reality an American citizen just as there is a nagging suspicion that he may indeed be, as some say, a follower of Mohammed. I chose not to believe either is the case, despite the nagging doubt. Many would say I am shutting my eyes to the obvious and others would say I am some kind of "right wing birther." Or something.

So be it.

The Price of Gasoline Remains Stable. Why?

Have you noticed that there has been no wild increase in the price that you pay at the pump in the recent past? Usually at this time of year - just prior to Memorial Day there is a fairly substantial increase in the price per gallon. Not this year. This year we have not heard so much about the "summer blend" that costs more to produce, refinery turn arounds, and unit shutdowns, strikes in the oilfields, rebels in Nigeria, unrest in some Krapistan or other, blah blah blah. This year in fact we have very serious issues that would normally cause a rather sharp increase in the price we pay at the pump. There is of course a massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico that appears unabated and there is real saber rattling on the Korean Peninsula. Usually this type of scenario along with the normal increase this time of year would put the price through the roof. Why has it not this year? Could it be that the oil industry is scared shitless of the Obama administration and dares not jack prices? If so, is this a silver lining to Obama's utterly disastrous term? Trying to "play ball" won't help them (oil industry) though. They are in the sights of the radicals, especially now that they have made themselves such an easy target. I'll wager that things will soon be getting pretty hot for the industry - probably to the detriment of us all.

How We Got Saddled With Obama

There has been quite a bit written on how on earth this nation could have possibly elected Obama to the highest office in the land and arguably the most powerful position on earth. This has been analyzed ad nauseum and I will now further add more to the pile.

For starters just the man's name alone should have been enough to deter a substantial number of voters. His middle name after all is the same as the former Iraqi dictator's last name. Oh also did I mention that his last name rhymes with Osama. It makes one wonder if The Almighty might be playing some kind of trick on this nation. These unfortunate coincidences concerning the President's name would give many pause. That is probably wrong, but it is human nature.
Apparently not enought people gave into this and voted for the man.

Number two on this list is of course Obama garnishing most of the minority vote in this nation. Now this is somewhat understandable as a serious minority presidential candidate is pretty much a novelty. When such things become more common then people will use a bit more of their brain and less emotion when voting.

Number three is the fact that the vote for Obama was for a great many nothing more than a vote against the incompetency of the previous administration. Add the fact that the Republican candidate was a wishy washy weakling (politically) and Obama's election was all but assured.

Number four we come to the electorate that are true believers. Those with a extreme socialist and even Marxist bent are certain to have voted for Obama, perhaps believing he is one of their own. It is interesting that this borderline Marxist President is not near left enough for most of these voters. Most are sorely disappointed now. Don't believe me? Take a gander at some of their asinine blogs. I could recommend a few.

Number five we come to the young and dumb. A great many bought into the messianic hype and voted. Perhaps we should raise the voting age to the current drinking age.

Then of course we have the phenomena of those white liberals that voted for the man just to show themselves how hip they are. Good job!

Now we come to a very interesting minority of voters that should have no interest in voting for a man with such an anti-business, socialist agenda. Most business people distrust Obama and his associates and would not ever consider voting for him. I am talking about those in business that perhaps believe that a liberal administration would be much more receptive to their brand of business. An example would those in the pornography business. I am personally acquainted with someone who manages some sort of quasi sports betting on the Internet. The past administration has shown hostility to any kind of offshore sports betting which would and did make it difficult to lay the governments hands on individual winnings. In this particular case it perhaps made sense for the person in question to (obviously) vote for and indeed campaign for Obama. It is doubtful that it will do him any good as offshore sports books and related industries make it inherently hard to control, and more importantly, collect any tax revenues off winning players earnings. This administration may soon prove to be relentless in the attempt to devise new taxes to impede American capitalism. Now these types of "business people "are probably in a very small minority but they do and did their part by their influence and their vote to enable the carnage that may (hopefully not) be the result of the Obama administration. Shame on them.

Idiots

Well Pat Robertson has spoken and again proven himself to be what we all already know. As Ass! Of course if he is right in his comments and has some special insight into God's Will then we are all "up the ass of the prophet." I'm not really sure what that means exactly but I did read it in Lothar Gunther Buchheim's historical novel "Das Boot." If I recall it used in a conversation between the Chief Engineer of the U-Boat explaining propulsion or buoyancy to the German Naval Correspondent that was assigned for the patrol. Apparently "up the ass of the prophet" is not a good thing. "Das Boot" is a novel with the impact of Willi Heinrich's "Cross of Iron" and the WWI historical novel "All Quiet on the Western Front" by Remarque. The film based on "Das Boot" is probably frighteningly realistic, but the "Cross of Iron" was a very poor film even with the all star cast assigned. It would be nice if someone would remake "The Cross of Iron" into a more accurate film. I have not seen the film "All Quiet on the Western Front". What is interesting about the three above named authors is that all of them walked the walk. Buchheim served on Atlantic U-Boats and is very lucky indeed to have survived that experience. A large proportion of the sailors assigned to U-Boat duty never came home. Heinrich faced the Soviets on the eastern front fighting a war which we in this country can only imagine. The Nazi/Soviet theatre of the war was truly a fight to the finish. Remarque served in WWI and was wounded numerous times. Each of these books is an excellent read and the film "Das Boot" is well worth watching.

It is kind of odd that right now the voices of the lunatic fringe have the floor to the detriment of the country. On the right we have Robertson, Duke and their ilk and they are just silly. On
the left we have the likes of Pelosi, Franken, Gore, Frank, Holder, and (dare I say) Obama. With that crew in positions of power this country is unfortunately truly "Up the ass of the prophet."

More dumb verses

I was supposed to work today but the job was cancelled. I am unfortunately in the position of having too much time on my hands and that is not a real good thing. Here are some silly verses that I have thought of that you might (or might not) enjoy. Warning: Some themes might be a bit inappropriate. Reading discretion is advised.

There once was a man named Olbermann
Who came right at folks like a doberman
His mind's a bit numb
He's quite frankly dumb
Yet he thinks he's the Nietzsche Overman

There once was a man named Frank
Who liked to put it where dank
He was kind of silly
But still no hillbilly
Look out! He's eyeing your crank

There once was a woman named Couric
If a man one would call her a big dick
She had liberal bias
But still quite a nice ass
She was in need of a wing wong colonic

There once was a man named Obama
Who surrounded himself with much drama
Rush believed him a commie
Sharpton thought him a Tommy
He once dissed the brave Dalai Lama

There once was a man called Chris Mathews
Who had sensations running up from his shoes
He gets hard as a rock
When hearing Barack
All should duck before his instrument spews

Sorry.

Common Ground With The President

I am not a fan of President Obama. I did not vote for him in 2008 and will not in 2012. The main problem now is that it is hard to picture who will run against him with any success in 2012. Palin is a loon. Huckabee is interesting but probably does not stand a chance. Romney reminds me of Texas Governor Rick Perry for some reason. I can't stand Perry. I don't know; it is a conundrum as they say. Bring back George I or America's first Black President I say and just forget his abrasive wife. America needs to also forget about that psycho Howard Dean. How about Alan (not Johnny) Keyes. That would be a kicker. If the Liberals disagreed with him, could the conservatives call them racist? Would Reverand Al, a great man of God, say that Mr. Keyes was not Black enough and therefore it is ok to criticize him? That would be funny as hell. Speaking of Al, just exactly where does he conduct services? Does anybody really know? Oh well, no matter. At this point the current President has over three years left to do his little part in damaging our great country and I thought that as a patriotic American, I should try to find some common ground somewhere with him and his administration. Turns out I have. Let's look:

The other day our President was in Mexico and noted that America's immigration policy was broken. How right he is and I have a quick and easy fix. Put up the fence and do it now. Guard it tightly with troops, border agents and other immigration officials. It would not be necessary to completely eliminate immigration from the south, but it it could be controlled by having "entry points" that are staffed by immigration professionals. It would be of course necessary to ensure that all those desiring entry be disease free, have a certain educational level or marketable skill, be sponsored, and have at least a working knowledge of the English language; both verbal and written. They would only be allowed to stay for a certain length of time, and there would be provisions to become American citizens if they so desire, provided of course they meet the requirements. Seems simple enough to me. I wonder what President Obama meant by "broke" however.

The President wants to close the Guantanamo Bay Naval Station's terrorist detention facility. He does not think that it should have ever been created and utilized in the first place. I believe exactly the same thing. I do not think those interned there should have ever reached that destination. Those that are housed there are not real soldiers of a nation that were captured in war. They are not really "enemy combatants" and therefore not really prisoners of war. Since they wear no nation's uniform, they are to be considered terrorists. It is not clear that there is protection under the Geneva Convention for this vermin. I do not think so. It is totally different from the Abu Graib incident where unfortunately American troops were filmed humiliating Iraqi military prisoners. That was clear violation of the laws of warfare, but non uniformed Mohammedan terrorists can arguably be captured, interrogated and eliminated. I wonder what President Obama's reasoning concerning this facility is.

While on the campaign trail, then Candidate Obama made a statement that maybe Americans should learn Spanish. I could not agree more! I think that all Americans so inclined should learn a foreign language. In Europe, most people have at least a working knowledge of some language other than their native one. Americans should also do the same. Go ahead and study to your heart's content. Enrich those at Berlitz and Rosetta Stone. Add more foreign language instructors at the high school and college level, put more people to work as private tutors etc. It would be good for the economy. Do not however go about your lives conducting your daily affairs with toleration for those that refuse to even attempt the English language. When ordering in a restaurant, speak English (even if you have knowledge of Spanish Farsi, etc. etc.). Point at the number on the menu if the waiter/waitress refuses to attempt to communicate in English. The same goes for any other daily endeavor, exclusive of "life or death" emergencies. Visitors to this nation can get a pass to some extent, but think of this. Would you go to France or Russia and expect their citizens to accommodate you because you can not communicate with them? Of course, chances are the persons you contact in those countries will have a working knowledge of English anyway, but you get my point. Those that came before us learned the language of this country which is, (like it or not Johnny Mata), English. They were forced to to communicate and make their way. There was no "bilingual" education. There were no "bilingual required" job advertisements. People learned English and that is the way it was. Is it so wrong to require adherence to our common language? It is small sacrifice for living in this great land. America is a melting pot but it is not, or at least should not be, the "Tower of Babel."
I wonder what then Candidate Obama's reasoning for Americans to learn Spanish was.
