Lately it has come out that the IRS has targeted political opponents of the current administration and that the govt may actually really and truly be spying on you. Data mining (as they say) and perhaps just out and out eavesdropping seems to be the issue.
I'm not shocked. Are you? What shocks me is that people are shocked by all these "revelations." Thought you really lived in a free country did you?
What rock have you been living under?

More Proof That Sen. McCain is a Horse Ass
It is being reported that a young man in Syria (14 or 15 years of age) was brutally executed in front of his family for "insulting" the "Prophet" Mohammed. Reportedly the lad was selling coffee and said something that some Syrian "rebels" found out of line. Of course they killed him. What else could they do?
And McCain wants to aid these "freedom fighters?" He is a horses ass and he just might be (if I may be so bold) a stupid bastard to boot.
As bad as the current POTUS is, it might well be a blessing in disguise that McCain was not victorious. God knows down what disastrous path he would have led this nation.

John McCain Might Be An Idiot
The civil war in Syria has been raging for quite some time now and as most internecine conflicts; this one is rather bloody.
For a while now some of our our national "leaders" have been debating on giving aid to the "rebels." I suppose the reasoning is that Assad is evil, somewhat a threat to security in the region and, not to mention, an ally (sponsor) of Hezbollah (Hizbollah whatever), Iran and (and this is the crux of the matter) Russia. Some would say that it makes some sense (geopolitically speaking) for the U.S. to chose sides against this crew and support those in opposition. That might make sense I suppose if we were talking of some sub Saharan African nation or some Central American toilet but this is the Middle East. What we are seeing is Muslim on Muslim violence and last time I checked my common sense meter - that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Do the pros of Assad & Co remaining in power outweigh the cons? A case could certainly be made for it. As of now - Assad does not seem particularly interested in seriously testing the most powerful nation in the region (Israel) directly. He prefers to fight his wars (and Iran's) the old fashioned way - by proxy. That proxy is of course Hezbollah which, while a pain in the ass and destructive, does not seriously threaten the existence of Israel (as long as they don't get ahold of WMDs which would change the game dramatically).
These "rebels" - these "freedom fighters" that we hear spoken of, well, just who are these fine folk? It is reported that they are dominated by Islamists (including affiliates of our friends AQ), and some of these groups would certainly attack Israel (and perhaps Jordan) if in power. Likely when and if Assad is deposed there would be more carnage as these various groups fight among themselves for power.
Of course they would also likely be of a mind to kick the Russians out of their, Syrian provided, naval facility thus depriving the Russian fleet (again) of their warm water port that they have historically pined for. Perhaps that would be one advantage to a "rebel" victory.
This civil war is one that we should certainly stay out of. Let these various groups slug it out and cause as much carnage as they can.
Foreign policy should be dictated by what is best for a nation state and not necessarily dictated by" "morality." What is best for the United States and the West in general is to allow this war to continue. Indefinitely if necessary.
Seems like a no brainer. I guess John McCain disagrees and he has long since lost his mind.
But you already knew that.

Not Bad For Hillbilly Noise
This guy Luke Bryan has it. I'm not normally a fan of what passes for "country" music these days but this Bryan cat has got it going on. Many country stars have more in common with a Jewish banker than a real farmer/rancher type. Be that as it may every minute of the following performance you can tell Luke just wants to jump off into a David Lee Roth sex grind. Probably a bit too much for the CMA but you can tell he was just on the verge of doing a "Diamond Dave."
Incidentally Diamond David Lee Roth and Axl Rose (of GNR), both famous for their testosterone fueled grind stole their little act from one overlooked and oft forgotten "Jim Dandy" Mangrum of Black Oak Arkansas. Or perhaps to be more accurate - Axl Rose copied David Lee Roth who ripped off Mangrum's moves.
Is nothing sacred?
Enjoy Luke Bryan's Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye at the 2012 "Country" Music Awards.

Jean Stapleton - Another Great One Has Left Us.
Jean Stapleton has passed away. Sad news. I always enjoyed her work.
All In The Family AKA Archie Bunker is arguably the most "important" situation comedy in television history.
Very little was taboo - and important social issues of the time were addressed with creativity. Stapleton's work as Edith was, well, no one else could have pulled it off. Her character was a perfect foil, and scattered brained balance to Carroll O'Connor's character (Archie).
As a testament to the staying power, so to speak, of All In The Family is the fact that it is still shown, day after day, in syndication. The show is still controversial apparently. In the not too distant past one Bill Cosby said something to the effect of "he despised" the show, because the main character, Archie, never learned and never grew as a post racist person. That was the point. The show was about a man who was stuck in his ways and would only change (or grow as Cosby might say) incrementally. Cosby apparently wished for Bunker to shed his narrow minded racism as the show progressed which to me is a very odd as Cosby himself is as racist as they come. That's right folks, America's pudding salesman and "clean" comedian is as racist as "Dr." Cornell West - he is just less ridiculous sounding and more appealing to the mainstream.
Sorry. Did not mean to get into a Cosby rant this early Sunday. That was not my original intent.
Jean Stapleton may you rest in peace. You will be missed.
