I watched the NASCAR race where they paraded military and their families and <i>"honored the troops on Memorial Day."</i> <br /><br />Memorial day is to honor specifically those who have died in the service of their country. We have other days to honor the troops, Armed Forces Day, Veterans Day, Independance Day... <br /><br />Memorial Day is reserved for lives lost. It was originally called <i>"Decoration day,"</i> the day we decorate the resting places with flags.<br /><br />The Indianapolis 500 did it right.
